New levels of interactivity
Augmented Reality (AR)
What is AR?
Augmented Reality blurs the line between the real world and the digital world. Using your phone, AR allows you to superimpose digital assets and information on top of the live view of the world seen by your camera.

What can AR do?
AR can add a layer of magic to any real-world scene. You may have already seen apps like Wayfair’s furniture shopping experience where AR creates sandboxes for users to see what furniture or home decor may look like in a new room, or games like Pokemon GO that overlay digital game elements in the real world for users to interact with. These examples only scratch the surface of what AR can currently provide users.

World Mapping
World Mapping is the core capability of AR. With it, we can superimpose any digital asset into the real world, adding objects like characters in a video game or new furniture to a person’s view of the real world.

Object Scanning
Creating 3D scans of real world objects is now possible, even with today’s mobile devices. This allows you to clone real world items and bring them into the virtual world.

Recognition - AR Facial
AR isn’t all 3D models, it is wildly used in social platforms to enhance creativity via digital effects like live photo retouching, triggered effects, and virtual decorations.

Heads-Up Display (HUD)
Heads-up displays are just around the corner and they will enable seamless AR experiences for endless real world applications.

We are experienced with the latest capabilities of Apple’s iOS, including world mapping and 2D activation in ARKit, the Vision image and video framework, and the RealityKit 3D simulation and rendering framework. We also have experience with Google’s AR framework for Android operating systems, ARCore. Whether you have the next big product ready to go, or you just need our world-class engineers to create a proof of concept, we’ve got the skills needed to tackle any AR challenge.
Let's Talk
Our Highlights

ALL is a free Augmented Reality platform that allows creators to showcase and share their detailed AR models, stories, and experiences. Unbound by the physical constraints of gallery spaces and museums, users can download the app and experience these thought-provoking pieces anywhere and anytime. Our collaboration with ALL is still ongoing, ensuring the app stays on the cutting edge of the rapidly changing AR space.

World Mapping
We were able to leverage one of the breakthrough features of ARKit, World Mapping, to bring ALL to life. World Mapping allows users to save and load in environments that they have saved in previous AR scenes. This means that if an artist places their virtual sculpture in the corner of a room or on top of a table, any device that recognizes that corner or that table will be able to place the sculpture exactly where the artist intended.

2D Activation
We wanted to give the artists using ALL more options than just utilizing basic world mapping to create their art exhibits, so we pioneered an implementation of 2D activation for scenes. As opposed to world mapping, 2D activation scans the environment for 2D planes, like a dollar bill or a drink coaster, and allows users to place a 3D object’s placement and position on that plane to be loaded later. That means that no matter where that dollar bill goes, ALL can recognize it and place a magnificent piece of art on it.

Custom Creation Tools
The artists on ALL needed a robust way to manipulate their sculptures as they created their AR scenes. We created a custom creation and editing experience for AR scenes. We implemented first-to-market features such as creating and editing 3D text, pinning objects to both horizontal and vertical planes in the real world, and size and placement adjustments using device gestures like three-finger drag and pinch-to-zoom. These custom tools helped artists achieve their visions in Augmented Reality.

Vrbo "(Vacation Rentals by Owner), a brand of Expedia Group," asked us to produce an engaging and memorable AR experience for RezFest 2018, an international vacation rental technology conference. They were looking for a wow factor that would give participants the feeling of being transported to an exciting remote destination through AR.
Our creative solution was an AR portal experience. The app presented a virtual doorway, strategically tied to their very own attendance badges. When the participant passed through the doorway, they found themselves in a realistic virtual rainforest in which they could move around and explore. Only by returning through the doorway (or putting the iPad down) were they transported back to the conference. This demonstration proved to be a real crowd-pleaser.
